Lewis Vinnicombe: Redruth winger capable of playing in Championship - Churcher
Redruth winger Lewis Vinnicombe is good enough to play in the Championship, according to head coach Marek Churcher.
Vinnicombe, 32, spent the 2006-07 season with Cornish Pirates in the second tier, but has spent the rest of his career at the Rec.
He has eight tries this season, helping the Reds to 10 wins from 13 games and fourth spot in National Two South.
"He could still be playing in the Championship if he wanted to, that's how good he is," Churcher said.
On Saturday Redruth host neighbours Taunton, who are fifth and on the same number of points as the Cornish side.
Vinnicombe and fellow winger Alex Ducker have scored 21 tries between them this season.
"One of the things that Lewis has got that probably nobody else has got is that raw pace," Churcher told BBC Radio Cornwall.
"He says this year he's probably learnt more in rugby than he has over the past couple of seasons, which is good from my perspective.
"He looks like he wants to be a coach in the future so he does a lot of analysis on the other teams."
