Some rapidly edited headlines here BBC, what happened to Vunipola set to start against Scotland?
Scotland to win by a cricket score 417 to 0 it will be like that scene in Monty Python where the opposition just keep running the ball over the try line every second!
Eng have been lucky in a few games but in most games the winner has a bit if luck at some point, it is what you do with it when it happens that that wins tight games, though nobody wins 17 games in a row by luck. Sco can win this time but they will need a bit of luck and will need to turn the luck into points everytime. The scrum will hurt, they need to be perfect everywhere else, or else👎
@181steve71You're right! EJ has brought England together and did what Lancaster couldn't do with essentially the same players. VC is doing the same. And I think I am trying to get my excuses in. Probably for myself more than anything else. I've been believing Scotland are on the cusp of doing 'something' for years and been battered too many times. Like a mars bar....
@178 Oh the excuses are coming in early! And I have to say that its not the number of world class players the team have got but how the players you have work together to make a winning team. Whether England win and extend their run or Scotland win and show their new era is real its a game not an expression national wellbeing (well not for me anyway!)
@149 kingstonoutI've thought the same about England, ie what have they done. Obviously beaten everyone before them in 17 games but I don't think that convincingly. I'm not saying they're lucky, just that today's game rests on very slight margins. EJ is the difference. He's a cunning wee man. England are beatable, unfortunately if the scrum is shaky you have to be lucky to beat them.
@ Anglophone and Big Splash I think you build up Welsh chances because you fear Ireland in Dublin. Englands last port of call.Well England have to pass the Scots first. And the wee fellas are coming down to Twickenham serious this time. Good match it promises to be.Wales will have performed beyond their recent showings to down Ireland.
@ thebunster 157I agree. I think our front row will prove costly, penalties resulting in easy field position will be our downfall. I honestly think England aren't as good as no.2. How many world class players?EJ done very well with what he's got but how can you guys honestly be worried about a Scotland with so many first team players out. It would be embarrassing for you if you don't win
175 SethI don't like these kinds of arguments but you would also have to consider that Scottish athletes representing GB have done pretty well out of all the facilities and opportunities paid for by that loathsome English cash!Come on...rugby is not about this endless circular nationalistic tripe. Remember...a nationalist is someone who can't recognise his country's shortcomings!
@175 Yes you're right, England are rubbish and the winning streak is just that a lucky streak against opposition that has been weakened in all sorts of ways and have been cheated out of winning by the referees being in EJ's pocket
@144, lol. @165 - seriously, I think you should stop there. England have underperformed in every sport and that is with their huge financial backing! With all the finance thrown into football, rugby, cricket etc you should be doing a lot better than you have. On another note England have climbed the rugby rankings yes but SA and Australia are not the teams they once were!!
173 BluesFanI have every reason to believe that Wales can win. Ireland are a good team but they're hardly lighting it up out there either. With a home crowd behind them Wales have every chance. The doom and gloom is being overdone!
@172. Big SplashI can't see where Wales get their next win. Honestly. Ireland will be too much.
England have been weakened by injuries but Billy and Mako are back and the jocks should be worried. They'll huff and puff but by half time, they will be spent and our bench will destroy them. England by two scores or more. Wales to win and save Howley's bacon and the 6N to England a game early. That's my call and they've all been right for many a game now.
England were at the stage where they needed to lose. They were getting complacent in my views. Along comes O'Shea and the wonderful Italy. Thanks Italy you may have turned it into a bore of a game. Happy I could not get tickets now. However your antics to just try and keep the score down I believe will do England the power a power of good. Just what England needed. They will be more focused now,
