@583 OK thanks for that. I'm sure your geographical knowledge is as extensive as your rugby knowledge (which you've forgotten more than I will ever know).https://www.cia.gov/library/publications/the-world-factbook/geos/nz.html
577..your geographical knowledge is as incomplete as your rugby knowledge. Perhaps you should only contribute to HYS on the topic if talking out of your backside!
Good news for Sexton. Gatland is confident Farrell will be fit for the first test against NZ, Sexton can have the day off now.
@579 Ah of course! The Irish wonderful record against New Zealand. Played 30 won 1! That knowledge about how to beat New Zealand will really help! But on the serious side, can but hope the players pull together better than the fans and it will help towards a series victory!
579. sideline sniper The more Irish players the better in the test IV===You're so confident that you only have 4 players to take on NZ?
The more Irish players the better in the test IV. The boys in green are the only tourists who know how to beat New Zealand. Gatland hasn't a clue.
Biggar has been decent in the games hes been involved in but I'm curious to find out how Finn will perform if he gets a chance on Tuesday he was immence againsed the Aussies on Saturday from a Scot AND a Lions supporter
@576 Because New Zealand IS a Pacific Island so in, even if in his stupid attempt he doesn't realise it!
I agree that #551 has not embraced the ethos of the game. However when #207 makes similar remarks about the pacific island heritage of NZ wingers....radio silence from all you how clamb to be offended. Or is that OK as it suits your allegiances?
My main worry is how the back three will cope. AW looks good attacking and will definitely play. HP fine in defence and kicking penalties, nothing in attack. North is a mess. Clumsy, no confidence and almost looks scared.Personally I would go for TS - mid week, he scored and came up inches short for another - his defence isn't the best, but we will need scores and imho he is our best finisher.
Don't see JJ in squad for Chiefs match. Is he being saved for the first Test, is he injured, or has he become surplus to requirements?
@570 PWLYou are correct. The poster #551 is all of those things.
@570 And you call the English arrogant! You obviously haven't embraced the ethos of rugby and if you know so much about the game, why not use that for rugby based comments rather than snide comments about players racial backgrounds? 'Poignant but valid remarks'? Says it all!
That was more like it. Very few stupid penalties conceded, much more focus and concentration - and most of all, greater respect of possession. They put so much pressure on the MAB's that they resorted to conceding penalties. Halfpenny is a shoe-in for full back (and I'm English), Davies had a stormer too. If the Lions can maintain that sort of attitude, the tests will be fascinating.
