Fiji book Rugby World Cup spot against Wales

Sam Warburton in action against Fiji
Wales have faced Fiji at the group stage in every World Cup since 2007

Wales will face Fiji in their pool at the 2019 Rugby World Cup after the Pacific Islanders beat Tonga 14-10 to book their place in Japan.

Leone Nakarawa's try and three Ben Volavola penalties in Nuku'alofa saw Fiji confirmed as the top Oceania qualifier.

Their reward is a place in Group D alongside Wales, Australia and Georgia.

The last remaining spot will be taken by the winner of the Americas 2 qualifier between Canada and Uruguay.

It will be the fourth successive World Cup that Wales have faced Fiji in the group stage.

The Canucks and Los Teros will face each other home and away in their play-offs, Canada hosting the first encounter on Saturday, 3 February, 2017 and the rematch coming a week later in Uruguay.
