Interesting that all but one of the six tries selected involve Games featuring Scotland. Other than Adams’s for Wales against Scotland some tremendous scores. Adams’s try unfortunately was from a forward pass which was not picked up by the officials. Chalk that try ‘off’ and Scotland would have won and Wales would not have completed a Grand Slam ! Small margins.
To all those saying "well done to Wales - YOU DESERVED IT" Of course they ruddy did! They played five and won five. Teams threw everything at them. They all lost and were out-matched in almost all elements of the game. Pathetic mind games failed; game plans of the opposition were set to a game plan that Wales did not play: England, Scotland and Ireland had no plan B. Yes, well-deserved!
International rugby is over for a few months International football now takes the stage...it’ll be hilarious watching Wales trying to qualify for next year.
@554 Tim nicebutdim Talking about Wales winning the Grand Slam "Look at the key facts and you wonder how"Tim old chap the only "key fact" in any sport is the final score. We won ALL 5 games, you won ONLY 3 old bean.
Congratulations to wales they deserved it in the end, can't argue with the results, disappointing from England, not sure what has happened to Ireland
536 and 540 - have you both not heard? The RFU is skint, is laying off staff and cancelling rugby teams. Last week they were trying to cull their 7's outfit! Unbelievable mismanagement for what should be the richest Union in the World. They simply cannot afford Gatland and Edwards anymore. Gats now nailed on for NZ job post RWC, after smashing Schmidt's Ireland. Shaun wants a head coach role next.
As an English fan I'd like to congratulate Wales on their Grand Slam which was fully deserved! It should also be noted that this team didn't really hit their straps in the 6N yet which augurs well for them with the World Cup ahead. What a difference Gatland makes as well - I think the away team should get to choose whether Eddie Jones should have his mouth open or closed before they play England
As a Welsh fan I genuinely believe that England should bring Clive Woodward back, don't waste anymore time with Eddie Jones and his derogatory comments, you have the players and bags of talent in the squad you just need a new coach pronto.
Tom...... This article is meant to be about Wales stop taking about England. It doesn't matter who scored what points when we won all our games there's nothing more to it.
English defence was ok until last game BTW.My points were a. Stats can be massively misleading b. Is there something to be learnt for others. England , game management/ defence. Ireland game theory maybe?
Tim 554, you also have to remember the Welsh defense which was superb. England had by the far the greatest attacking threat but their defense was shocking. Some of those tries that Scotland scored yesterday, English defense was like watching Keystone Cops. It should not have come as a surprise that Scotland would come out in that 2nd half fired up, but England had no answer.
i don't think anyone could deny that Wales were worthy winners but if you look at all the key stats you wonder how? Maybe the killer one was that Wales kicked 19 penalties, Ireland only 3( maybe got obsessed with the kick to the corner). Points really do win prizes. Wales had far fewer lineouts so keep it on the field, good kick chase, win the pen, kick the points move on. Clever stuff from WG
@552 Just heard it on the radio! So must be true?I’m not Welsh, but they are now clearly the best team in the N hemisphere and maybe EJ was correct when he said greatest Welsh team ever. Won about 15 in a row now! Time will tell?😬
@546 And now pre-tournament favourites for the RWC!------------------------------------HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHA
Firstly, just to make clear, I'm English. Well done Wales!! What you guys have learned is - very consistently - how to win. It doesn't have to be pretty, just win! You have shown the rest of us how to do it. England despite fabulous skills on occasion, have not got the right mindset to close out a game. This goes all the way back to '15 WC when Wales really embarrassed us. Congrats again to Wales.
