Great performance by England. It could easily have been 26-0, but for a wrongly disallowed try and a botched line-out.On the All Blacks side, I don't quite understand why when you have the best fly half in the world, you pick him at full back. Beauden Barrett is an all-time great, and I'd want him to have as much of the ball as possible.
Why were there only 13 NZ players in the line up at the tunnel to applaud England off the pitch.........?
If England can play with the same verve then they should be able to beat any tactical changes SA throw at them because they played a team who tried lots of different things and none of them worked. I just hope England don't lose their nerve and shove the ball up their jumpers and try to out crash SA. Of course take them on up front but only to draw in the forwards to create more space to play.
We have rugby football union rules and we have FA football rules.Different shape ball by definition means two different games.Rugby born from football; “no but it’s a good try”.The progression of rugby as a global sport will help teach football how to behave.
Get a lifeThe rules have changedNZ players from Pacific IslesTipiric and Navidi good old welsh namesHalf of Japan not optical Most of france from N africa|Lets go back to Public school boys, NOT
Yesterday I was preparing to change my name to Owen Morgan or Heine Donk until I watched this mornings game. If South Africa prevail with that brand of one-dimensional, negative rugby the game will be set back decades. So come on England, a decade of domination awaits you..........(may God forgive me!)
England were fantastic. Where did Eddie Jones come up with those tactics! From his trips to Allianz Park I think. Huge mention in dispatches for Mark McCall, the real architect of this England team. Not all Saracens players - and some of the real standout performances from non-Sarries players (thought Watson was unplayable, Tuilagi a man possessed) - but the mentality. Pure Sarries.
@1464 Blue Fan I have no difficulty in recognising that GStQ is the English National Anthem. My problem with it is that it should be the royal anthem, played at events where the monarch is present. It's a poor excuse for a national (or English) anthem, however, as it mentions neither the land nor its people, and, as an atheist why should I have to sing "God...…"? A NA needs to unite all.
It was obvious that the wet conditions badly affected the handling of the ball for both sides. I don't think anyone mentioned that though?
Haka response was a risk, if not backed up. But the entire England team backed it up with attitude and a brilliant performance. NZ were poor, out thought tactically and looked fatigued. Unusual for antepedean, Hansen was magnanimous in defeat. Safe to say the boring England label has been consigned to the bin. Well done to EJ and England. Hope the final is competitive game with attacking rugby.
@1472 And some English! ;)
@1465. Posted byMart W - All Blacks not the only Kiwis in the losers final.
@182 3slamWales (posted yesterday) "Have England handed Wales a golden opportunity to win the RWC by eliminating The All Blacks?"Nope. England have handed Wales a chance to be third or fourth.
