Dorset-based sailor Kate Macgregor says she is relishing the prospect of competing at the Sail for Gold regatta.
Macgregor will race at the event on 6 June with sister Lucy and Annie Lush, with the trio current world champions in the Elliot 6m class.
"It's a really important regatta for us, it's going to be tough as all the top teams will be here," she told BBC Radio Solent.
"It's one of the biggest sailing events this year so it should be good fun."
Sail for Gold is the qualifer for the Olympic test event which takes place at Weymouth Bay and Portland Harbour from 31 July.
The Elliot 6m class is a new event for London 2012, however its Olympic status will be short lived after it failed to win a place at Rio 2016, and Lucy Macgregor admits she is disappointed by the decision.
"It's a shame that it won't get a chance to really establish itself within the Olympic Games and develop to next time round, but we have got to make the most of the moment now," she said.
"Match racing has had its difficulties within Olympics but we really believe that come London 2012 it will be a fantastic display of racing."
