Britain's Mike Golding has become the first sailor to complete three Vendee Globe races after finishing the round-the-world yacht race in France.
The 52-year-old finished in 88 days, six hours, 36 minutes for sixth place.
Frenchman Francois Gabart won the race in just over 78 days, three hours ahead of compatriot Armel Le Cleac'h, with Britain's Alex Thomson finishing third.
During the race, Golding also became the first person to sail around Cape Horn three times in each direction.
Great Yarmouth-born Golding finished the race in Les Sables d'Olonne six hours behind French rival Jean Le Cam, with whom he had been duelling for fifth place since early December.
Golding completed the race in 2001 and 2005 but was forced to quit in 2008 when the mast on his boat was damaged.
