Britain's Bryony Shaw won silver for the second time at the RS:X Windsurfing World Championships in Mussanah, Oman.
The European champion and 2008 Olympic bronze medallist, ranked number one in the world, finished second in the medal finale to end the regatta behind China's Chen Peina.
Two-time world champion Nick Dempsey blamed "too many mistakes" as he finished 13th in the men's event.
"This was a target event and one I wanted to peak for," said Shaw, 32.
"Midway through the week I could see that it was going to be a really tough fight and come down to the medal race.
"It's great that I'm able to perform on medal race day, it seems to be a strength of mine."
