Alicante has been selected as the venue for Scotland's final 2012 European Championship qualifier against Spain.

The 30,000-capacity Estadio José Rico Pérez, home of La Liga side Hercules, will host the match on 11 October.

Scotland sit third in Group I after one victory and one draw from four fixtures.

World Cup winners Spain top the section with five wins, including a 3-2 triumph over Craig Levein's Scotland side at Hampden last October.

Prior to the visit to Alicante, Scotland host Czech Republic and Lithuania in September before a trip to Liechtenstein.
