Camanachd Cup: Beauly, Inveraray claim thumping wins
There were heavy 7-0 wins for Beauly and Inveraray, as well as a victory for Oban Celtic in the first round of Camanachd Cup shinty on Saturday.
Caberfeidh were granted a "walkover" with Glenorchy unable to field a team.
In the Marine Harvest Premiership, Fort William and Lochaber shared the spoils, with Kinlochshiel and Kyles Athletic also drawing.
Newtonmore defeated Kingussie 2-1, while Oban Camanachd beat Lovat by the same scoreline.
Doubles for Jack MacDonald and Ross Forbes set Beauly en route to a thumping home win over Bute, with Conor Ross, Robbie Brindle and Ryan MacKay also scoring.
Gary MacPgherson and Alan MacDonald also claimed braces, while Lewis MacNicol, Ruaraidh Graham and Allan Cameron netted in Inveraray's rout of Ballachulish.
Oban Celtic had to endure a nervier passage to victory, Barry Phimister scoring his - and Strathglass' - second goal on 82 minutes in their 3-2 defeat.
Elsewhere, Jonathon "Shockie" MacLennan's goal was enough to secure victory for Skye over Glenurquhart in the first round of the Artemis Macaulay Cup.
Fort William came from two goals down at home to Lochaber to draw 2-2, Bryan Simpson and Dean Williamson scoring in six minutes to cancel out goals from Ben and Danny Delaney.
Kinlochshiel and Kyles meanwhile finished all-square, Josh MacRae scoring twice for the hosts, but Robbie MacLeod and Grant Irvine netting to level.
Savio Genini's 87th minute effort could not salvage a draw for Kingussie, though, who prevailed via goals from Iain Robinson and Paul MacArthur, while Andrew MacCuish and Scott MacMillan scored for Oban Camanachd, who recovered from Greg Matheson's early strike to beat Lovat.
