What is the odds for a Ding vs Ronnie final?
Following on from this, in soccer, this would be treated as "ungentlemanly conduct" and "bringing the game into disrepute" by Maguire, so perhaps the snooker authorities should consider appropriate action.
Pure childish bad sportsmanship and tantrums by Maguire..... Dont forget this is the man who (in pure temper, not joy) bangs tha table, stamps on the floor, smacks his cue on the table etc. The crowd enjoyed "Jack"'s performance, so perhaps Maguire should have concentrated a bit more instead of throwing tantrums.
A few years ago it was Liang Wenbo who provided the Crucible entertainment with his Mr Bean-esq antic. This year it is Poomjaeng. Watch out Virgo you will be soon out of a job.
Forget Michael White. The Poom is currently the favourite of this year's championship. He is like a club player and live or die by every shot. Terrible to play against tho.
Despite his antics he is terribly slow taking each shot.
Thanks for the reminder David C. I reckon Dechawat´s matches will be the most watched on iPlayer. The guys a real entertainer.
Don't forget that the Sonic Poom returns to your screens tonight at 7pm!
Poomjaeng brought some much needed fresh air to the Crucible and gave us one of the most enjoyable performances I have seen for years. his obvious enjoyment and thge fun way in which he conducted himself was very reminiscent of some of the great players in the past, I´m rather pleased he beat dour, scruffy, unsporting Maguire. I wish Poom every success in the tournament, Time to retire Maguire?
I like snooker, i go play down the clubs a bit, when keen for a pint. Even still, I havent watched much of the World Champs so far, only a bit of Poomjaeng as he offers a bit interest and watched the match of Ronnie. Without these two guys I would be struggling to find some entertainment from the players. Although the White Knight looks to have plenty of potential and Selby can be good on his day.
So Maguire doesn't think Poomejang is a full shilling eh? What an odious little man, this is the same clown who was so dopy he forgot his own chalk and was subsequently docked a frame. I enjoyed watching him, he's brought something different and I would sooner watch him than somebody who has a face like a slapped backside and this is the man Denis Taylor is a really nice guy off the table.
Good, Maguire is a cheat, cheats never win.
Imagine not being able to beat a fruit loop at snooker; you must be crap Mags! As long as he doesn't break the rules, he can do what he likes at the table. Not everyone wishes to be as grey as a rainy cloud.
Gotta Retire- It's Steven Maguire
Sounds like sour grapes to me with Maguire saying he wasn't the full shilling unless its taken out of context by the media, anyhow the man looked a bit nervous and was excited to win, nice to see some emotion around the table.
i think Dechawat Poomjaeng is a very gifted player and thoroughly deserved to win. i very much enjoyed watching him play because he has brought some fun to a sometimes very serious sport. really wish he progresses further and further.
@57 Couldn't have put it better myself. Dechawat Poomjaeng is a bit of a character and it was a joy to watch him enjoying his first crucible experience. Maguire is the epitome of dull, he should wish to have a bit about him but he is a lifeless travesty of a man.
