Not sure why they had to add "sure youth" to the title of this page!Judd does have a lot of potential but thinks he's already as good as Ronnie. His ego is ridiculously big! Ronnie was nowhere near the top of his game and Judd couldn't get near him.
I agree. The commentators overdo the praise, to the point it gets tiresome. Snooker does thrive on individuals and needs heroes, so perhaps the commentators were instructed to heap praise constantly. But my word, it doesn't require them to do it several times a frame.
@153 I was going to say your right, the commentators try so hard to Make judd seem special and compare him as the next "ronnie" which is embarrassing, snooker needs a new face I think Barry Hearn had a word with the commentators to push as the new face, I've never heard so much love in for juddas for ronnie playing 50% and winning convincingly just shows what a genius he is maybe next year
i see Judd tried to play mind games here with Ronnie, saying how he has beaten him more times then Ronnie has beaten him. Thinking he can crack Rons game, well i guess he will be thinking about it while sitting in his hotel room with his massive ego watching on TV the final in which he is not in because he got outclassed by a legend in which trump is way far behind. YOU GOT OWED LIL BOY!!!!!
149 - I have no idea what you are inferring. Obviously Ronnie will be odds on for the final and rightly show. All I was pointing out was how Taylor was having a massive love in for Trump. I am a huge Ronnie fan.
I backed ronnie at 2-1 when he beat carter. I didnt think he played that well against trump but still mullered him...ive a feeling he be playing hawkins in the final...which he should win easily however hawkins beat selby so he cant be that bad.
"Everyone thinks Ronnie's the best by a country mile, but I've beaten him more times than he's beaten me (Trump leads O'Sullivan 6-5) and my best is as good as his. I've heard from my brother that he hasn't played that well." said TrumpWell Mr Trump you just got destroyed by a legend that was playing at 50% at best. No Hit and Hoper will ever win a World Championship Mr Trump
Well this tournament is Ronnie's to lose now.Walden and Hawkins look equally incompetent. I'd pay money for Ronnie to win this 18 - 5. Five frames to the opponent because well... Walden/Hawkins have good sessions from time to time but nothing consistent (which makes them 1st round losers most of the time).Shame really, this might have been a solid final with someone like John Higgins in it.
@148 ronnie will be odds on favourite to win the final
146 - Totally agree about the commentators. On Thursday afternoon you would have thought Taylor was Trumps manager or something as he constantly got over excited every time he came to the table and he went on and on about a 'Judd Trump special', which translated is hit a long pot as hard as you can and go safe when it misses.
Bastu:No argument there from me. :-)
@143 get a life you wish him hardship what is wrong with youwith ronnie the standard has been very poor this year, the other semi looks very dullronnie is playing at 50% goes high as 60% and still beating judd and the commentators are forcing judd down out throat stop his not ronnie
Rawwar - The two go hand in hand. If not for his troubled mind then arguably he also wouldn't be the player he is. I'd say it's his "troubled soul" that make him the player he is...
Didn't Ronnie give his cue to a young lad in the audience when he wanted a new one? Most pro's break their old one. And Ronnie has no class. Hmm???Ronnie is a troubled soul, but I would say his heart's in the right place even if his mind isn't.It's Ronnie's mind that gives the others a chance, if not for that he'd be out of sight.
I have to say he is a genius of a snooker player but very very flawed. I wish him nothing but hardship. This is due to the fact he has consistently undermined the game I love. I wish he would retire, in fact I wish he had retired years ago so snooker can move forward with players that actually want to play the game. He has no class, no decency or respect for the game that has earned him millions
Ben Dirs is really amateurish. Did you seriously believed Ronnie when he said he played terribly after being up 12-4 against Bingham? He takes Ronnies's words too literally. Only a fool would do that. Ronnie is a very boastful character and lacks humility, so belittling opponents and the game comes naturally. I don't think he means all he says. We know he's not the brightest.
What was the gesture Ronnie making? As for Ronnie's quit threats, I do think he is a it of a mild depressive or ADHD case. I don't think he suffers majorly otherwise he wouldn't be able to get through daily life as well as he does.
