tom finney was the finest sportsman ever.I MEAN SPORTSMAN.
Jack Russell is the finest artist in sport
555- who is greater at his sport than Ronnie. Snooker requires a huge amount of effort to even become average. The amount of ability he has is scary, the sports hard, he makes it look so easy. We should feel lucky to see him! Coming from a national tennis player
The headline question was: "Is O'sullivan the finest artist in sport"?The answer is a simple NO.At snooker? He's undoubtedly a grand master of his trade, no question about it.But the finest artist in sport? All of sport? What a foolish question to ask when there are so many around the World who have dominated their sports to a far greater extent than Ronnie has with snooker.
Robbie Savage is the football equivalent. Great player, fantastic pro, peerless pundit, model looks & great hair.On top of all that he has added potential great Manager/Coach to his cv after telling DM who should stay & who should go at MU.What is next for this multi talented soccer legend? The world is literally his oyster.
Phil Taylor is the darts equivalent.
On his day he is a great player, but his temperament will be his Achilles heal.
@514 I think you're missing the point I was making.

aaargh...I just posted the most bland comment imaginable and it's been removed...wha'appen ?!?!?!
A huge pub sport talent - a massive ego - from criminal stock - outside of snooker he would be 'known to the police'.
Drunken Hobo how can Ronnie O'Sullivan no be remembered as a great? He is the most gifted snooker player to have lived. .The same people who complain about sportsmen making comments are the same ones who harp on about there being no characters left in sport. You can't have one without the other. Imagine a world of Michael Owens and Stephen Hendry Zzzzzzzz. Give me Tiger, Ronnie, and Ali anyday!

541 Supersonic - TV viewership is down, as most of Rangers' fanbase just watched them on the TV. However most clubs have seen an increase in matchday crowds, and the only clubs in financial bother were in trouble long before Rangers died.National team has been resurgent recently & Celtic still did better in Europe than Rangers in their final days. It's much better, now if Celtic could go too...
Presumably this article is compensation for him not making the BBC compiled SPOTY shortlist, despite snooker being one of the very few sports the BBC actually shows live. He's a genius. When his head is right he is unbeatable. Mind you, when it isn't he might as well play with the thick end. That's in the nature of geniuses though I suppose.
