Snooker: 2015 World Open in China is cancelled

Snooker World Open cancelled
Shaun Murphy beat Mark Selby 10-6 to win the World Open in China earlier in the year

The 2015 World Open in China has been cancelled.

World Snooker announced that the event, which has been staged in Haikou since 2012, will not take place next year.

The cancellation follows contractual issues with the promoter and a failure to find a suitable new location to host the tournament, which had been due to take place between 26 January and 1 February.

World Snooker will now look to find a new venue for the tournament in 2016.
