There are some particularly childish and stupid comments on this board, with more than a few showing a total inability to be neutral, objective and thus make fair comment. Why make personal remarks? It's the height of stupidity ... or is that what those who make these comments aspire to be, ie singularly thick and thoroughly stupid.
I'm not a limbo dancer said the drama queen.
Barry Hearn puts out the begging bowl to Ronnie as he knows without the breadwinner snooker is in trouble (it already is, few sponsors)Comments like “go away” Ronnie is nonsensical. He’s keeping snooker alive as a tv spectacle. To want him gone is to want snooker to disappear. People watched boring Steve Davis because A.Higgins was around, boring Hendry as White was around..same now w/ Ronnie.
@264 “Absolute great for the game that smugface is out.” Without Ronnie snooker has no personality, without personality there is no interest, no tv coverage, and snooker resorts back to being a pub game not shown on tv like it was before the game’s first breadwinner Alex Higgins. The majority are neutrals (like me)..personalities drag us in. Nevdy fans who like nerdy players are a minority.
O'Sullivan - a great snooker player? Yes. O'Sullivan - professional, a gentleman and a good ambassador for the game? No. Federer is in the media for being a great player, being professional and a gentleman both in and outside the game. You reap what you sow Mr O'Sullivan. I'm also pleased O'Sullivan is out of the tournament.
Absolute great for the game that smugface is out. He wants to be the story and is a selfish, arrogant egomaniac. Go away and publicise your foodie book and let the blokes who love and respect the game to get on with it.
ROS was beaten fair and square. He’s not as good as some commentators on here think. Carter played a better game throughout and it appeared that he wanted it more. To say snooker is nothing without Ronnie and that the rest are boring is absolute nonsense. I agree he’s entertaining to watch but he’s not the only entertainer in the game. Far from it.
Typical of one-brow O'Sullivan resorting to bully-boy tactics. So glad he's out of the tournament. The sport has never had such a bad ambassador for the game.
Ronnie wasn't beaten, he lost. Flashes of brilliance but ultimately played badly. If the balls aren't going in, they just aren't going in but credit to him for sticking to his game. Just a bad week at the office, no more. Ali was fortunate to win. Some terrifically bad shot choices / bad misses too on his part. Ronnies B game would usually dispense of players like Ali but he just did not cue well.
