Redcar Bears rider Gary Havelock in hospital after crash
Redcar Bears captain Gary Havelock was taken into intensive care following a crash in Thursday's League Cup meeting against Edinburgh Monarchs.
The 43-year-old fell in heat five, with the incident leading to a half-hour delay for medical treatment.
"Gary has a broken left shoulder as well as the upper left arm being broken and already plated," promoter Brian Havelock said of the incident.
In addition the former world champion broke three top ribs.
