Plymouth Devils ended a disappointing season with a 47-43 defeat by Newcastle Diamonds at the St Boniface Arena.
The Devils' season has been beset by injuries and misfortune, and there was no happy ending as the final heat went the way of the visitors.
Plymouth established a six-point lead after eight heats, but were pegged back by Newcastle before Richie Worrall and Ludvig Lindgren snatched the win.
The Devils finished third from bottom of the table with 21 points.
