Poole Pirates ended Eastbourne's 16-match winning run after holding the Eagles to a 45-45 draw at Arlington.
The Eagles had won every home match since losing to the Pirates last June but a final-heat 5-1 for the visitors put an end to the winning sequence.
Poole team boss Neil Middleditch told BBC Radio Solent: "It was a tremendous comeback especially at Eastbourne.
"There were a few interesting refereeing decisions otherwise we could have come away with all the points."
The Pirates started strongly and opened up a six-point lead after five races.
The hosts turned it round with four advantages in the next five heats to put them in front before Darcy Ward and Przemyslaw Pawlicki combined in the final race to earn Poole a draw.
Poole remain third in the Elite League, four points behind second-placed Lakeside but the Pirates have three matches in hand.
