Swindon Robins have re-signed former Elite League title winner Jason Doyle for the 2016 season.

The 30-year-old has spent the past two campaigns with Leicester Lions but will now return to Wiltshire.

Doyle won the Elite League title with Swindon in 2012.

"He's clearly one of the best riders in the league and it is a great move for us to bring him back to Swindon," said Robins team manager Alun Rossiter.

"He is our top star and it just goes to show that we mean business.

"We've spoken a lot and we are both excited by the season ahead, it's a great boost to our team building."

Doyle joins Justin Sedgmen, Charles Wright and Stefan Nielsen at the Elite League side with just three remaining spots to fill.

Swindon lost out to Belle Vue in the play-offs last season.

Doyle, who has an Elite League average of 9.44, is also the reigning Australian Speedway champion.
