Golfer Harrison Greenberry has been named BBC South West's 2011 Young Sports Personality of the Year.
The 17-year-old, who plays at Exeter Golf Club, won the British Boys Championship in August, an event previously won by the likes of Sergio Garcia and Jose Maria Olazabal.
He also won the English Golf Union's 2011 Boys' Order of Merit.
"It's quite hard to put into words really, probably the best word is 'outstanding'," he said of the award.
"It's been amazing really, I haven't been able to take it all in," he added of a season which has also seen him play in the finals of the Abu Dhabi Junior Golf Championships.
The event in the United Arab Emirates saw just 21 players qualify for the event from 41,000 who applied to take part.
At the age of 15, he broke the course record at his club when he went round in 62, three shots clear of the previous best.
Greenberry is heading to the USA in August to take up a golf scholarship at the University of Kentucky.
"After that I definitely intend on turning pro and giving it a go in the professional world," he continued.
"With all the backing I've had from so many people it's definitely achievable and I hope that I can do it."
