BBC Sport - Sports Personality: Andy Murray to repay public's faith

Murray thanks UK public for support

BBC Sports Personality 2013 winner Andy Murray thanks the UK public for sticking by him over the years, saying that he hopes to repay their faith by winning the Australian Open.

The Wimbledon champion, who was speaking to BBC Breakfast's Sally Nugent from Miami where he is in pre-season training said he had "let some people down" in the past but that sacrifices made by both himself and his family were behind his success.

Murray won more than 50% of the public vote to win the award with British and Irish Lions rugby player Leigh Halfpenny second and jockey AP McCoy third.
