Madeline Perry beaten in Irish Open final in Dublin
Madeline Perry's hopes of a fifth Irish Open title were dashed when she was beaten by England's Alison Waters in Saturday's final in Dublin.
Waters won the two opening games 11-4 and took the third 12-10 to complete victory over the top seed and world number four Perry at Fitzwilliam.
The Englishwoman also defeated Perry in the 2009 Irish Open decider.
Waters, world ranked 32, had beaten second seed and world number three Laura Massaro in the semi-finals.
County Down woman Perry, 34, defeated world number 17 Jaclyn Hawkes to win her semi-final 11-8 12-10 11-8 on Friday.
In the men's final, top seed Botswana's Alister Walker defeated Scotland's Alan Clyne in four games.
