England's Nick Matthew lost his squash World Championship semi-final grudge match with Egypt's Mohamed Elshorbagy.
The pair traded words in the build-up to Thursday's match in Doha with world number one Elshorbagy, 23, saying the defending champion was past his peak.
Matthew, 34, who won his three world titles beyond 30, replied that at three weeks into his reign, Elshorbagy had been number one "for a few minutes".
Elshorbagy won 11-9 11-5 11-8 and faces compatriot Ramy Ashour in the final.
Ashour, the number four seed, beat top seed Gregory Gaultier of France 17-15, 11-7, 11-5.
