England's three-time world champion Nick Matthew defeated French rival Gregory Gaultier in the semi-finals of the British Grand Prix in Manchester.
Third seed Matthew beat the top seed 11-7 10-12 15-13 9-11 11-5 in a gruelling 103-minute match.
"I felt like I was due a big win so I'm really pleased and ready to give it one more big push to try and end the year on a high," said Matthew.
The 34-year-old will play Mathieu Castagnet of France in Monday's final.
Castagnet, who defeated world number one Mohamed El Shorbagy in the quarter-final, beat Colombia's Miguel Angel Rodriguez 11-2 16-16 13-11.
