Windy City Open: Nick Matthew beats Mohamed Elshorbagy in final

Nick Matthew triumphs at Windy City Open

Britain's Nick Matthew beat world number one Mohamed Elshorbagy 11-7 11-2 11-7 in the final of the Windy City Open in Chicago.

The victory sees Matthew, 34, become the oldest winner of a Professional Squash Association World Series event.

Three-time world champion Matthew made only two errors against the Egyptian, 24, as he won his 32nd career title.

"I felt I played well when under pressure today. I was patient and picked my times to attack," he said.

"I'm really enjoying my squash at the minute. I guess I'm in the twilight of my career - the end is closer than the beginning - but I managed to take my chance against someone who has been in incredible form recently."

Matthew, the 2014 Commonwealth champion, won the Swedish Open last month.
