Jersey swimmer Emily Bashforth has been called up to Great Britain's squad for the European Junior Championships.
Bashforth, 15, is part of the team heading to Antwerp, Belgium in July after her performance at the Olympic trials in London.
She won gold in the 100m freestyle at the Island Games last year, setting a new Games record.
"It's a great achievement for Emily to make the GB team," said her Tigers club coach Nathan Jegou.
"Emily is our first full international swimmer since Simon [Le Couilliard] and our first ever female and that says a lot because we have had some very talented swimmers come through the club.
"It's also great for Jersey swimming, as a sport we punch well above our weight and hopefully this will inspire others to try and do the same.
"AIB Tigers had four members at the recent trails, three of which were 15-years-old.
"It shows the future is bright and that if people want to swim, the island can produce athletes at the highest level."
The full squad is yet to be formally announced.
