World Junior Swimming: 100m backstroke medallist Conor Ferguson misses out on 50m bronze
Bangor club swimmer Conor Ferguson just missed out on a bronze medal in the 50m backstroke at the World Junior Swimming Championships in Indianapolis.
Northern Irishman Ferguson touched in 25.48 seconds, just one tenth of a second off Poland's Kacper Stokowski, who won bronze in 25.38 on Saturday.
Ferguson won a silver medal in the 100m backstroke earlier in the week.
Sligo's Mona McSharry won 100m breaststroke gold, finishing 0.37 seconds ahead of Faith Knelson.
The Irish swimmer led from start to finish to come in ahead of the Canadian and add to the 50m breaststroke bronze she also picked up.
