Alice Loveridge wins Jersey Open table tennis title

Doran and Loveridge win their titles

Guernsey's Olympic hopeful Alice Loveridge has won the NatWest Jersey Open Table Tennis Grand Prix.

The 17-year-old beat England number four Emma Vickers 11-3, 16-14, 12-10 to win her third title.

England number six Chris Doran won the men's singles, beating top seed Darius Knight 11-9, 11/8, 7-11, 10-12, 11-8 in a thrilling final.

Doran also took the Under-21s title, seeing off Ireland's Paul McCreery in the final 11-7, 11-8, 3-11, 12-10.

The only local winner saw Jersey's Eugene Ellis win the veteran's title after beating Sue Collier 11-4, 14-12, 11-3.
