Liam Pitchford lost 4-1 to Korea's world number 17 Saehyuk Joo as British interest ended at the World Table Tennis Championships in Suzhou, China.
England's Pitchford, ranked 62nd, went down 12-10 9-11 11-5 11-4 11-8 in the last 32.
The 21-year-old from Chesterfield had beaten world number 20 Tiago Apolonia of Portugal in the previous round.
Compatriot Paul Drinkhall went out in round two, while Scot Gavin Rumgay lost in the first preliminary round.
