Guernsey's Heather Watson edged her way past fellow Briton Naomi Broady to reach the semi-finals of the Aegon GB Pro-Series event in Shrewsbury.

The British number two lost the first set 7-5 and needed a tie-break to take the second set 7-6.

But the 19-year-old, who is the final British player left in the tournament, rallied to take the final set 6-3.

The win booked Watson a semi-final against Germany's world number 269 Annika Beck.

It is the first time that Watson has made a semi-final since winning the Tevlin Challenger event in Toronto last November.
