Andy Murray will return to action for the first time since his at the Dubai Tennis Championships on Tuesday.
The Scot, 24, takes on German qualifier Michael Berrer at 1000 GMT.
Murray is in the same half of the draw as Djokovic, with Roger Federer also in Dubai but Rafael Nadal absent.
"I'm looking forward to the tournament. I've prepared well for it," said Murray, who trained with coach Ivan Lendl in Miami before flying to Dubai.
"It's very fast conditions, very quick courts, so [it] took me a few days to get used to that. I like it here and hopefully can have a good run," he added on the ATP World Tour website.
Djokovic, the defending champion, began his campaign on Monday with a 6-4 6-2 win over Germany's Cedrik-Marcel Stebe.
"I'm happy with the first match after four weeks, definitely," said the world number one.
"It's really nice stepping out on the court and seeing a full stadium and having a lot of support. I'm very flattered."
