@88. rectorrector Fed didn't turn up?Match should have been replayed from the start with the roof shut after the rain delay?Fed only plays seriously in slams? This is a Mickey Mouse tournament?Fed doesn't need the money?Andy does?Fed feels sorry for Andy?Andy was lucky again?Fed hates playing in foreign countries?Nadal's absence devalues tournament?Fed was unlucky?Any more?
Hmmm, El Chavo and Lame Number 6 and their chums must be a bit gutted. Which will be the most stupid excuse they come up with for this result I wonder?
hey if someone doesnt like federer that doesnt really affect me we all have our favourites. I am certainly not biased if someone beats federer then hats off they have obviously played a great match. I am not saying federer is a saint he has done and said some stupid things but hasnt everyone. I just cant understand why people are coming on here and criticising federer, the achievement is fantastic
@59. BNBedford ..........Murray was lucky to get through to the next round.How?........ were names drawn out of a hat?Dimwit.
They would have played on at the US open on that first.. erm.. ok lets call it a "rain" stop, And the crowd would have put roger in his place. But even with this stop i cant see any other result than Murray taking it, since that Wimbledon loss something has clicked in his game, hitting hard, few dips in concentration and very dominant on court. long time coming but great to watch.come on Murray!
you mean pick holes in a player that you clearly adore and getting upset when other people dont feel the same about him as you do. For the record, I admire Federer's skill, but not his attitude and conduct. Sadly, and this is backed up by the expert commentators (see their quote in 80 below) Fed fans are biased. We all have our favourites, but at least I can admit when players I support screw up
not really i would just rather watch the tennis than pick holes in a player
nowwhereman111hardly bullying it was starting to rain federer didnt want to take any chances and they carried on after a 2 minute stop. As for being a role model he is one of the most inspirational people in the world why dont you grow a pair and show some respect. Murray is playing a great match today and deserves to win. Anyways this article is not about the match so why bother posting that.
brilliant call from the commentators in the fed murray match after fed missed a forehand wide and the replay was shown = "the federer fans were expecting the ball to go in even in the replay, how biased". Brilliantly accurate example of how blind Fed fans are - they think a point lost will be changed in the replay to a point won! Hahahaha
Just watching Federer bullying the umpire due to the "rain" - such a bad sportsman, his back is to the wall trying to hold serve and he bullies the umpire into stopping when the umpire says it is fine to play. Yet another example of the arrogance, not a role model for kids
Just like to say I like and admire Fed, Rafa and Novak. they are all brilliant players and are all gentlemen. It is truly a great era for tennis right now.But for me Fed is the tops.
My god why are there so many sad people on these boards, you can't just tip your hat and say great achievement, have to get into this petty bickering, it is pathetic as are most of the stupid mindless reasons you give for thinking he is this or that, it is sad.@ 52 I think you will find that he is fluent in English, his language skills are not why the pathetic comments are made.
@ 75 apples and pears, so it doesn't. If you want to compare the two, Tiger was nowhere near as dominant as Federer.
"It's obviously an amazing number and I never thought of anything like this when I was a little kid," Federer added. This just puts into perspective Tiger Woods' phenomenal 623 weeks at number one in the golfing world.
@70 Are you alright? Agassi looked on more favourably? Maybe by people who have abused drugs (like he did), but nobody in his right mind would say Agassi appealed to more people than Federer does.
64and not everybody loves nadal. As for all the other people on here calling federer arrogant and self-centered, what ever helps you sleep at night
I love El Chavo - think she is BRILL!!!!!
70. nowhereman111 +++Aggasi was more of a fashion model than a tennis player.
