Dear AndyWell Done CONGRATULATIONS what a brilliant game you deserve it and good luck for your future. We are very proud of you.Take care God Bless You. Best Wishes Angela x
I struggle with the notion that people disliked Murray because he was "stroppy and miserable". Yet he was/is unfailingly polite in interviews, tries to give more than the usual trivial banalities, has never injured an official on court (verbally or physically).Suddenly he won over millions of folk after last year's Wimbledon for crying, Why, because he LOST - surely poor sportsmanship. Go figure
Sheeple dislike tennis and its heroes because it's very much a sport for the strong willed, steel minded individual and not for those who only live in herds. Murray is a very strong personality, people can't stand that because it reminds them of their own inadequacies.
many English sports fans think the union flag is the English flag, particularly football fans, and at any game this is clearly evident but can also be seen at cricket and rugby involving England, its this kind of ignorance that riles, scots, irish and welsh and probably why scots try to promote the saltire.
2140. angloal Thought Alex Salmond's political flag-waving was a disgrace/embarrassment. /////////I think it's hilarious, if only because the way it makes professional PR man look silly.
2145. brora Jeremy Paxman talking about British Andy Murray but Fred Perry is of course English.//////////In the context of the introduction he couldn't do this otherwise. What's your point?
Jeremy Paxman talking about British Andy Murray but Fred Perry is of course English.http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-23240764The BBC are also out of order making a fuss over the waving of the Saltire - would anything have been said if it had been the English flag. No wonder the Scots get fed up.
Andy Murray is a worthy winner and we will cheer him to the rafters for years. I hope this inspires more young people to achieve great things. And so what about the man waving a local flag behind Cameron? He’s cheering a neighbour. If Andy Murray were from around here, I hope someone would wave the Flag of Huntingdonshire.

@2132Plenty of people have been given Knighthoods for less.Murray doesn't want it, and he mentioned that it is only a big deal because of how long it has been, not because of the actual achievement. In any case, he has donated a fair chunk of cash towards cancer research, so maybe he will help indirectly in finding the cure for cancer :)
I wonder what John Inverdale thinks Clare Balding's father said to her...?
