British number two Johanna Konta is out of the Aegon Classic at Edgbaston after losing 3-6 6-3 6-4 to Czech world number 13 Karolina Pliskova.
The match had been suspended on Wednesday, with Pliskova leading 4-3 with a break in the final set.
And that narrow advantage proved decisive as Konta failed to claim what would have been the biggest win of her career.
Pliskova will play Spain's Carla Suarez Navarro in the quarter-finals.
Top seed Simona Halep of Romania also progressed to the last eight after a comfortable 6-1 6-3 win over Klara Koukalova of the Czech Republic.
