Britain's Jordanne Whiley reached her first Grand Slam final with victory over Aniek Van Koot in the US Open wheelchair women's singles.

Whiley, 23, lost the first set on a tie-break but won the next two to complete a 6-7 (1-7) 6-4 6-3 triumph over the Dutch second seed.

She will play her doubles partner Yui Kamiji in Sunday's final.

Japan's Kamiji beat the top-ranked Dutch player Jiske Griffioen 7-5 3-6 6-4 in her semi-final.

Andy Lapthorne's defence of his men's singles quad title ended with a second defeat in the round robin stage.
