Maria Sharapova has won Wimbledon (2004), the US Open (2006), the Australian Open (2008), plus two French Open titles (2012 and 2014)

Former world number one Maria Sharapova will return to action at the Wuhan Open in China starting on 27 September.

Russia's five-time Grand Slam winner has been out since injuring her knee at Wimbledon and missed the US Open.

"I'm looking forward to getting back onto the match court in Wuhan," said the 28-year-old, who accepted a wildcard.

"I've been working hard to get myself ready to compete again and I can't wait to get back out there."
