Love it when these baseline bores get beaten by a serve and volleyer. That's the way the game should be played, with a bit a flair and skill, not just survival of the fittest with the most powerful racquet from the baseline.
And out of the Doubles as well. So early trip to Miami and plenty of preparation time for that tournament,
And so Pospisil goes out in the next round to Lanjovic another qualifier. Proving what a wasted opportunity it was for Murray. Not like Pospisil was on a really hot streak and unplayable.
@paddy post106. Just illustrated my point again. Nasty comments show more about the "character" of the person making them. Shame 🤐🤐
Ah well, hopefully it will build character as he has none
@Bert post 103. Agreed, but still Murray as the best player in the world should have beaten him.
What is s grandslam? Its sounds like a wrestling move!
No one is giving Vasek Pospisil any credit. To begin with,he is not really a qualifier - he has been ranked in Top 25 previously but his career has been derailed by injuries. He has also won a Grand Slam Doubles Championship at Wimbledon a couple years ago. He has an excellent serve and volley game. When Pospisil is healthy and on his game, he is a tough match for anyone.
ChessspurYour argument is flawed. Top players target the slams. One win in 14 is not dominant, it doesn't in any way suggest he is britains best ever sportsman. Maybe nadal, Feds and Djokovic won so many slams was because although these 3 are great, the rest were not up to. This is supported by now they are getting older, not one player has come through and is now dominatin
I can't understand why some Brits denigrate Andy so much. You should be so proud of having a player that has made No 1 in the world in an era of many great players. As a Kiwi with British heritage , I cringe when I read the nasty negative comments. They are probably made by people who have achieved very little. I just wish Andy was a Kiwi -we would embrace him.
