@391.Jana won the Wimbledon title in 1998.
I should have referred to Jana's Wimbledon victory in 1988 - NOT of course in 1998.
I well remember the awful sadness I felt when Jana lost her first Wimbledon final. What an athlete - and such immense talent. But I also remember her joy - as well as my own - when she won the title in 1998! The world is an emptier place without her, and I said a tearful prayer for her last night. I send my deepest sympathy to her family and to all her friends. Dearest Jana, forever Rest in Peace.
A real Lady on and off the court, who radiated gentleness and fun in equal measure. Rest in Peace dear Jana and Thank You for all the joy and pleasure you brought to so many of us.
The down-voters need to take a long, hard look at what (if anything) they are contributing to the human race.
So very sad, a great tennis player, taken far too early. R.I.P. Jana
384Sadly it is the way of things. You may notice that now school is open the trolling comments have largely gone. Some of the comments suggest that the writer has not lost a loved one, particularly to something as pernicious as cancer and thus has no empathy.
R.I.P Jana, u will be deeply missed on and off the court, amazing person gone far too soon, so sad:((
Don't understand all the negative down votes for people commenting on her passing? A human being has just passed away. Are you that heartless? Whoever you are, you should really be ashamed of yourselves as human beings and hopefully no one gives you negative comments when you lose a loved one. R.I.P. Jana.
Copy and paste
I was a huge fan. Loved her tennis & the kind of person she was off the court. The affection shown by the players who knew her says it all. Because society is somewhat superficial and she was not a showy sex bomb like Kournikova, but merely a great player and nice person, she never got the attention she deserved. Very glad HYS comments are allowed so we can see that many did get she was special.
Totally shocked about this news. Remember her being emotional on Court at Wimbledon like it was yesterday.Gone far too soon. R.I.P. Jana x
