For the record @Roy. The last time Roger and Rafa reached the final of their worst surface slam was 2011. Since then, Rafa has won 8 matches at Wimbledon, Roger has won 16 at RG despite missing the last 2 years and being injured in 2016. Rafa is better on clay than Roger on grass, but Roger is better on hard than Rafa.He also probably supported him for his tennis, the tics are new. @86
@Roy - Prove me wrong then, if you want to mention H2H I'll just throw Davydenko in before you do.
@LivingDeadGrrrl your loyalties are 'dead' obvious and you're the 'objective' one.
Hoping for a great contest over 5 sets, but Delpo's backhand will surely be targeted by Rafa, and Rafa moves so well on clay. Delpo's forehand also does not seem to have the same venom as it once did. My guess is Rafa in 4 sets. Schwartzman did as well as Roger Federer in his absolute prime against Rafa, so should be very proud of himself.
@dragonfly so what were you supporting him for. I have never read a more self-contradictory comment. Lol. What would he lose to not have you support him?
@10 footyfan94 stick to the footy.
Haven't read all the previous comments, but am I the only one who has always supported Nadal but now find his 'mannerisms' and endless towelling down and time-wasting between points TOO frustrating....... Get on with it!! and stop grunting! Tired of him winning also. Come on someone - take his throne.
Should be a great Semi. Very lucky to have two talents out there. It is clear the modern game takes huge toll on players' bodies, and minds, which makes Federer and Nadal's endurance so much more laudable. This will be seen as a golden age.
@83 - Without sounding partisan, I find that Roger fans point out simple facts available on Google, while Rafa/Nole fans tend to attack Roger's personality (which they have no idea about), when their h2h argument comes undone. But I'm a Roger fan so what do I know?
Appreciate reply Laki. Thanks. And agree with you DLG @82. It's very hard for us to judge impartially. We all have our favourites.
It's quite obvious that people that don't like Roger will find ways to make him look bad. Same with Fed fans about Rafa. I will point out, that on the odd occasion Roger smashes a racket, he does it with one smash, not in several and it stays smashed! Nothing wrong with a bit of passion.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gz19hsMxPkQ
@77 I get what you mean about the PR image - it is too good to be true and therefore annoying. But the examples you give do not suggest that 'Fed is a terrible loser' just that he is fairly normal - i.e. can get tetchy like the rest of us when things don't go our way! Wouldn't you agree?
