Aileen Reid finishes sixth in Japan World Series event
Derry woman Aileen Reid finished an impressive sixth in the Yokohama World Triathlon Series event in Japan.
Reid finished two minutes and two seconds behind American winner Gwen Jorgensen as she moved up to seventh spot in the World Series standings.
The Londonderry woman was just 13 seconds behind third-placed Emma Moffatt of Australian.
Cork triathlete Bryan Keane finished 13th place in the men's event with Banbridge man Russell White in 50th.
Keane's performance moves him up to 33rd in the series standings.
Reid's performance improved her previous best finish this season of seventh in Australia.
The Londonderry woman, who was eighth in last year's World Series standings, is comfortably holding onto an Olympic qualifying spot for Rio 2016.
Reid was 15th in the second 2015 World Series event in Auckland, improving from her 24th place in the first round of the series in Abu Dhabi.
