Welsh rider Chaz Davies has slipped to fifth place in the World Superbikes championship after crashing in Monza on Sunday.

Davies started the weekend in third place, and claimed fifth position in the first race in Italy.

But he crashed in second race so dropped out of the top three in the overall standings.

The 2011 BBC Cymru Wales Sports Personality of the year claimed two wins in Aragon on 14 April.

Davies, 26, from Presteigne, Powys, wasn't hurt in the crash, and will be able to compete in the next round of the championship at Donington Park on 26 May.
