Rhys Williams sets new 400m hurdles best
European 400m hurdles champion Rhys Williams has run the fastest time in Europe this season with a new personal best of 48.9 seconds.
The 29-year-old set the mark at the Loughborough International on Sunday and continues his recent good form.
Williams become the first Welsh athlete to hit the A standard for next year's Commonwealth Games in Glasgow when he won in the Flanders Cup in Belgium.
In Loughborough, pole vaulter Sally Peake also achieved the A standard.
The 27-year-old, who is the Welsh record holder, cleared 4.25 metres.
Williams, a Commonwealth bronze medallist in 2010, is now based in Cardiff and trained by his former coach Adrian Thomas.
