Northern Rail Cup Play-Offs: Swinton 26-18 North Wales Crusaders

North Wales Crusaders were knocked out of the Northern Rail Cup at Swinton Lions.

Apart from the Challenge Cup fourth-round tie at Hull FC, this was Crusaders' biggest challenge of 2013 as the Championship One leaders took on Swinton, who play in a division above them, on the Lions' own turf.

After heading into the break with a 10-4 lead - with two tries replying to an early Dan Burkett effort for Crusaders - Swinton's pace on the flanks started to show as they took control of the early stages of the second half.

Swinton's victory sees them through to the quarter-finals, while Crusaders will now focus their attention on Championship One action and the Northern Rail Bowl final.
