David Higgins: Powys driver retains US rally crown

Powys-based David Higgins has won his third consecutive Rally America National Championship.

Subaru Rally Team USA's Higgins and Craig Drew won the Lake Superior Performance Rally to secure their third consecutive title.

They clinched the title ahead of Hoonigan Racing's Ken Block and Alex Gelsomino at the final round of the championship in Houghton, Michigan.

"We've enjoyed this weekend," Isle of Man born Higgins said.

"That was really the biggest, most important factor. Sure there was a lot of pressure, but we really went out there to have fun."
