Cardiff Devils' new managing director Todd Kelman says he is confident his new club will win the league within the next five years.

Kelman announced he was quitting his role as Belfast Giants general manager to join the Devils on 13 June.

He is part of a Canadian consortium who will buy the club.

"I will be shocked if we don't win the league within the next five years," said Kelman.

The Canadian helped the Giants clinch four league titles - two as a player and two as boss, including this year's triumph.

"I know how to build a championship team," said Kelman.

"I'm confident I can do that here [Cardiff].

"I think we'll win trophies within the next three years, not necessarily the league," said Kelman.

"There's also the play-offs and the challenge cup but the league's the big one for us."
