Welsh interest at the US Open ended on Friday, with both Jamie Donaldson and Oliver Farr failing to make the cut.
Ryder Cup hero Donaldson hit a four-over-par 74 in his first round but a birdie on the first hole in the second round suggested a recovery was on.
But four bogeys and three double-bogeys in his round saw Donaldson slump to 11 over, while Farr ended on 10 over.
Masters champion Jordan Spieth shot a 67 and he leads with fellow American Patrick Reed (69) on five under.
Donaldson and Farr bowed out at the Chambers Bay course in Tacoma, Washington State, alongside some big names.
Tiger Woods missed the cut at the US Open for the first time since 2006 after finishing the second round 16 over par.
Two-time Masters champion Bubba Watson, Rickie Fowler and Germany's defending champion Martin Kaymer also missed the cut, as did 2010 US Open champion Graeme McDowell.
