Wales lost 42-54 against an Australian Centre of Excellence side in Tasmania in their first warm-up game before the Netball World Cup.

Trish Wilcox's side led 27-10 at the half-time interval but fell away over the remaining two quarters.

"It was a solid first quarter and exceptional second quarter and then the second half had some major learning out of it," said Wilcox.

Wales play Fiji in their opening World Cup match on 7 August in Sydney.

Further group games follow against Zambia (9 August) and Uganda (10 August). Their preparations will continue with warm-up games against Scotland (1 August) and Tassie Spirit (3 August).
