Jack Marshman: Welsh fighter "had the measure" of Marcus Cedenblad

Welshman Jack Marshman will fight Brazil's Thiago Santos in Canada in the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) on 19 February.

The three-round middleweight fight will take place in Halifax, Nova Scotia.

This will be the second fight for Abertillery's Marshman in the UFC, after winning on his debut in the SSE Arena in Belfast in November.

The 26-year-old, a former soldier with the 3rd Battalion, Parachute Regiment, beat Sweden's Magnus Cedenblad by TKO.

Marshman will now face the experienced Santos from Rio de Janeiro. The 32-year-old made his UFC debut in 2013.

"I feel great about the fight. It's another step up in the rankings so it's exactly what I asked for after my last fight. I asked to take another step up in the rankings and they've given it to me, it sounds perfect to me," Marshman told BBC Wales Sport.

"He [Santos] is experienced, he's had ten fights inside the UFC and it's only me second it was the same as my debut.

"I was fighting a guy that had five fights in the UFC but I went out there and stopped him. I am very confident but he's a very tough guy.

"He's a similar fighter to me actually he likes to stand a lot more than go to ground it'll be an interesting fight"
