Devon weightlifters selected in the GB youth squad

Sonny Webster is aiming to lift at the London Olympics

Two weightlifters from Ivybridge Weightlifting Club have been selected for the Great Britain's European Under-23 weightlifting team.

Helen Jewell, 22, will lift in the 63kg class, while 17-year-old Sonny Webster competes in the 85kg category.

The duo will hope that a good showing at the event in Romania will propel then towards a 2012 Olympic place.

Up to five British lifters will in London next year with places for three men and two women.
